"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give them up!" and to the south, "Do not hold them back." Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth" Isaiah 43:5-6

"Remember those…who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." (Hebrews 13:3)

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the needy." (Proverbs 31:8,9)

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" Matthew 25:40
This is our journal to rescue an orphan with Down syndrome who lives in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. Anna was left at the hospital by her parents, who refused to take her home because she was born with Down syndrome. In Anna's country people with disabilities are looked down upon and are typically hidden away in orphanages from birth and their outlook for life is not very good. Once the orphan turns 4-6 depending on the region they live in, they are then transferred from the orphanage to mental institutions or insane asylums. Our family desperately wants to make Anna our daughter before she is transferred as she is already 5 years old. We will love her and give her the family that she deserves and give her a future full of hope, despite her disability. When our family stepped out in faith and committed to adopt Anna we didn't have the money that it would take to get her here. God has worked miracles in so many aspects of our adoption. The biggest miracle is that I have had faith all alone that God would send the money we needed to adopt Anna. Through many answered prayers, God made sure we had every penny we needed to make her our daughter!

We will be meeting our little Anna very soon!

I continue to be amazed at the love that is pouring in for our little girl.  With each and every donation that comes in, God is showing us the love that he has for Anna and that it is his desire for her to have a family.  God makes a way, when there is no way.  I believe that with all of my heart.  He has made a way for a family of 5 to be able to add a little girl with Down syndrome to their family.  A family who didn't have the $30,000 ransom price for her, but trusted in God to provide.  A mama who prayed every day, thank you Lord for making a way for us to go and get her God.  Although the money didn't come in over night, it is coming.  It is still coming....even today!  There are so many people that have donated and are still donating.  We thank you for every single penny that has been donated, every penny that has been sacrificed to help Anna have a family of her own. I can't wait for every one of you to see pictures of her with her new mommy and daddy and brothers and her sister.  I want for all of you to see this sweet little girl that you helped us bring home.  Each and every one of you have a special place in our hearts and we thank you a million times over. In fact, I could thank you every day for the rest of my life and it wouldn't be enough!  As of today we now have $4,200 left to raise....what a miracle!  Thank you for being part of that miracle, through your prayers and donations!

I am happy to say that in less than 2 weeks we will be meeting her!  I cannot express in words how excited we are!  I can't wait to hold her and kiss her and whisper in her ear that she is loved and that she is wanted.  I want to tell her about all of the things she is going to experience in her new family and about the birthday parties that we will have.  That she has two brothers and a sister who love her and will cherish her.  Anna will get to go to the beach and go swimming and play in the sand.  She will sit on Santa's lap and tell him about the dollies that she wants for Christmas.  She will run around our yard and hunt Easter eggs and candy.  She will go to church and learn about Jesus and she will know what a miracle God performed to help her have a family of her own!

We thank you again for all of your support, love and prayers!  Please continue to pray for us as we travel into this unfamiliar country to go and rescue a princess!
