"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give them up!" and to the south, "Do not hold them back." Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth" Isaiah 43:5-6

"Remember those…who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." (Hebrews 13:3)

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the needy." (Proverbs 31:8,9)

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" Matthew 25:40
This is our journal to rescue an orphan with Down syndrome who lives in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. Anna was left at the hospital by her parents, who refused to take her home because she was born with Down syndrome. In Anna's country people with disabilities are looked down upon and are typically hidden away in orphanages from birth and their outlook for life is not very good. Once the orphan turns 4-6 depending on the region they live in, they are then transferred from the orphanage to mental institutions or insane asylums. Our family desperately wants to make Anna our daughter before she is transferred as she is already 5 years old. We will love her and give her the family that she deserves and give her a future full of hope, despite her disability. When our family stepped out in faith and committed to adopt Anna we didn't have the money that it would take to get her here. God has worked miracles in so many aspects of our adoption. The biggest miracle is that I have had faith all alone that God would send the money we needed to adopt Anna. Through many answered prayers, God made sure we had every penny we needed to make her our daughter!

Please help Quinton come home!!!

****UPDATE**** They only have $4,500 left to raise!!!!
God is good!

Look at this sweet baby face! I am so burdened for this family.  I have told the story before of how his mommy-to-be came to find him.  Her name is Carol and she is my daughter's special education teacher.  She has a heart of gold and is a beautiful soul who I am so lucky to know. :)  We just met back in August 2010 when school started.  My daughter started middle school this year and this was Carol's first year teaching.  Sometime after school started I told Carol about our adoption of Anna and I gave her our blog website so that she could follow our story.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that she would find her way to Reece's Rainbow and find a child of her own! She and her husband Brian do not have any children yet and fell in love with cute little Quinton. In Quinton's country babies and children are abandoned at orphanages and are kept there until they turn four years old.  Once a child with a disability turns four they are transferred to mental institutions where they will live out the rest of their life, which may not be very long. Sometimes children with Down syndrome do not live one year after they are transferred to these mental institutions because of trauma, neglect and malnutrition.  So little Quinton is living on borrowed time and the Miller family is desperate to raise the needed funds in order to rescue their baby boy. They have held fundraisers and have raised most of the money but they leave in 8 days and aren’t fully funded yet.  They are holding a fundraiser right now with some wonderful prizes in hopes of raising the last $6,500 they need in order to travel.  Please stop by their blog and read their story and check out their fundraiser.  Any donations, no matter the size are deeply appreciated.  Please help save this little life if you can whether it be by prayers, donations or sharing their story.  Thank you and God bless you!
