"Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give them up!" and to the south, "Do not hold them back." Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth" Isaiah 43:5-6

"Remember those…who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." (Hebrews 13:3)

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the needy." (Proverbs 31:8,9)

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" Matthew 25:40
This is our journal to rescue an orphan with Down syndrome who lives in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. Anna was left at the hospital by her parents, who refused to take her home because she was born with Down syndrome. In Anna's country people with disabilities are looked down upon and are typically hidden away in orphanages from birth and their outlook for life is not very good. Once the orphan turns 4-6 depending on the region they live in, they are then transferred from the orphanage to mental institutions or insane asylums. Our family desperately wants to make Anna our daughter before she is transferred as she is already 5 years old. We will love her and give her the family that she deserves and give her a future full of hope, despite her disability. When our family stepped out in faith and committed to adopt Anna we didn't have the money that it would take to get her here. God has worked miracles in so many aspects of our adoption. The biggest miracle is that I have had faith all alone that God would send the money we needed to adopt Anna. Through many answered prayers, God made sure we had every penny we needed to make her our daughter!

I'll leave you a comment, but I don't have any idea how I found you. :) I read a ton of adoption blogs. Some I find through RR, some through other blogs, some through FB. But I do love following along, however I found you!

I think I may have found you because Heather was following your blog. I too, read a lot of the RR blogs so I can't say exactly how it was I came across yours.

I do know that I have sent my husband a few links to your blog because I feel we too are suppose to do this. But I am waiting on him to feel the same way.

I also know that because of your family and other families like yours my Christmas was so much better. I read, cried and witnessed Miracles and knew that God was alive and doing a wonderous work.

While my friends on FB were worried about wrapping presents, baking cookies and holiday parties, I was busy reading blogs of families and orphanes who were going to be reunited by next Christmas.

I spend about 1 to 2 hours every night reading these wonderful blogs. It is so much better than TV to me and makes me know how much good there really is going on in the world.

I appreciate all the families who have taken the time to share their stories with the rest of us and in turn touch or lives for good.

I am so excited for you and will continue to pray for your family.

I found you because I have been praying for Anna daily since I first saw her on the Reece's Rainbow website as a waiting child. I am so happy she has found a family. Continued prayers for you and your family as you continue on this journey.

I learned about you from This Week at Duke Energy. I pray that you will bring Anna home. This is such an amazing act you are doing!

I have prayed for Anastasia since I first saw her on RR-that either we would be her family, or that her family would step forward ASAP to save her.
Thank God for your family! You were the answer to my prayers!

I found you on RR. My wife and I were able to bring our Julianna home August 2010 from Russia. She is 8 years old and WAS in a mental institution. This was the first adoption EVER from this particular mental institution. (God's help here!)
Your daughter's picture (and another Anna from RR) have been on my vision board for the past 3 months so I continue to pray for their safe journey home.

God has certainly blessed you and your family.

Sincerely,

Ken L.

I found you through the Wonderful Scotti O of Inner Hooker fame.. her link to your blog opened my eyes .. and then filled them with tears.

I have an Anastasia of my own, she's 23, married and just blessed me with our fourth grandchild. Your devotion to your own Ana filled my soul with love, and I knew I had to help you bring her home.
I live in Outback Australia, and its impossible to adopt a special needs child from overseas here (deplorable government policy!!) so I was determined to help people with such amazing capacity for love in their hearts. I donate to Ana's fund whenever I can, I promote her on my business facebook page regularly and hold giveaways in conjunction with the Inner Hooker. After you have brought your princess home, I will donate to other RR babies in the hope that one day ALL children will have the love, the attention and the family that they deserve.

Kind regards

Carol

Thank you all for your prayers, donations and for spreading the word about our little Anna! It's amazing to see people come together for the glory of our Lord in order for his will to be done! We appreciated each and every one of you!

I found you 17 years ago when I placed an ad in the Salisbury newspaper looking for a dependable, loving, Christian babysitter for my 3 children. I knew from the moment you came to my home that I could entrust you with my family. I also knew that you were destined to be a wonderful woman, Mommy and wife. God answers prayers, & I guess facebook allowed you to find me this time. God's timing is always perfect... I feel blessed to have been introduced to your family & to Anna at the very beginning of her wonderful journey to your family. Love ya, & God bless! :) BTW, she definitely looks like you...
